As an artist, Aimee is predominantly interested with making drawings and sculpture. Born in Devon in 1981 she studied Fine Art at Falmouth College of Art from where she graduated with a first class honours degree. Four years on and Aimee is maintaining a steady practice, exhibiting in London, Cornwall and Dorset. Aimee focuses strongly on her drawing skills with her portrait commissions from within the UK and USA.
Aimee's sculptural work has previously concentrated on the nature of destruction, evolving and maturing now to involve the subtleties of decay, developing an inquisitive dialogue in the observers mind between imminence, currency, and retrospect. There would be no sculptures without drawing and no drawing without sculpture, and through her extensive travelling, landscape sketching has recently become a focus. Scenes and gestures are experienced, held, and left on a page, translated into a mark and hung with colour.
